The ADI (Association for Industrial Design), in partnership with the General Commissioner for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, promoted this prestigious award, which was tasked with presenting the pillars of quality and social responsibility in design on a global stage.
The theme of Expo 2025, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” guided a multidisciplinary jury in selecting and recognizing the various projects.
Within this context, EcoPackly received the Compasso d’Oro International Award — a flexible, space-saving multipurpose container made from post-consumer recycled plastics and 100% recyclable.
EcoPackly, designed by Roberto Giacomucci, was conceived as a container for waste sorting, but its clean and linear design makes it versatile and suitable for any room in the home. Its true uniqueness, however, lies in the bellows structure that allows it to be folded whenever it is not in use or needs to be transported.
